“We can’t borrow money every time something goes wrong in America.” -Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)
Why not? We give money away every time something goes wrong someplace else…
Republicans Revive Lie That Obama Tax Hikes On The Wealthy Would Hurt Small Businesses
During the 2010 debate over the expiration of the Bush tax cuts, Republicans continually claimed that allowing tax rates for the richest two percent of…

Awesome rebuttal is awesome.
A friend of mine posted this on his Facebook page. It’s been… an interesting read. I certainly encourage reading the entire post, as well as some of the comments.
TL;DR version: Woman sees PDAs by gay couples (we’re talking rubbing elbows, holding hands, and the like - not even kissing!), and now won’t take her kids to local pool/park.
Now, naturally, some of the comments turned rather… aggressive. I will never condone posts that suggest physical violence is an acceptable method of discussion. A follow-up was then posted:

Thankfully, the comments seem much tamer, if no less heated.

Stacy,
If I wrote that I object, as a Muslim American, to the fact that my tax dollars fund education for women and girls, and furthermore fund a system that permits you to show your face, collarbones, hair and arms in public without being severely beaten by your husband for your immodesty, how would you feel about that? Would you agree that my religious liberty is being trampled upon by our government? Or would you be outraged that I feel entitled, due to some belief system you regard as irrational and unfounded, to have my oppressive norms imposed upon you?

One more thing.
If you are to follow the bible’s word, stop cherry picking from it.
1 Timothy 2:12

But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

In other words, you have no right to tell a homosexual man what to do.
I can’t see the future, but I fully expect things are going to get worse before they get better.
The state legislature in North Carolina rushes through a measure to put a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage on next year’s ballot.
With all the problems in that state (jobs, clean-up from Irene…), THIS is what the Republicans choose to focus on?
If this woman doesn’t file some kind of false arrest suit, she moves from victim to part of the problem.
Why?
Because she has given up her 4th Amendment right against unlawful search. Someone on the plane says, “I think someone in that row is acting funny” and she gets strip-searched? Hell, from what I see in the article, the police assumed she was guilty by association, even though she had never met those men (who also were strip-searched based on appearance, it seems).
Stories like this remind me that our freedoms have seriously eroded over the last ten years. I love my country, but I’m becoming afraid of my government…
This should be reblogged by everyone. Even if you’re straight, you should be a supporter.
Supporter.
Amen!
